#2. There's nothing wrong with my life philosophy. It revolves around this one simple tenet: Quality is more important than quantity.

I'm sure many people with nothing to live for would rather be dead in those circumstances. For others seeing their children grow, or still feeling the love everyday of your wife is enough to keep going. But unless you find yourself in that situation, you won't actually know what you would feel. And we don't get to pass judgment on the lives of other people just because they don't sit well with us.

Unfortunately dave, that's exactly what we (society/government) does do. Here's a man who wanted to die, but was unable to do so:

#3 i wouldn't agree, while quality of life, as seen in this video, is not always under our control, life philosophy should be. not all people who are in the position of this man wants to die.
but i do agree that every human should have a right to chose to die with dignity ( http://www.people.com/article/Brittany-Maynard-death-with-dignity-compassion-choices )

#16 #17 I guess this is all down to "What is life". Saying that you would rather be dead is a strange statement as being dead is being nothing at all and being alive is all there is ever going to be for you. Okay if you are in chronic pain then you have an argument and I totally agree with the right for one to choose. But unless you are actually put in the position of someone like the guy in the video its silly to say you would rather not exist, your life may have to change beyond comprehension but clearly as demonstrated you can still feel love and with the amazing technology shown you can have a worthwhile life which has got to be better than an eternity of nothing.
