#1 are you sure jet-skis aren't powered by jets?

#3 Correct, this tugboat has nothing in common with jetskis, dont know what #1 is talking about really...The tugboat have azipods which means the props can be rotated 360 degrees. A jetski have fixed prop/impeller which create a waterjet, that jet of water is then directed left and right to stear the jetski. 2 totally different concept and jet #1 claims they are the same :S

#3 Yes I am sure. Geeezzz

#4 If you listen @ 3:38 you will hear about the thrust generated by the propellers being increased by the cones surrounding them. That actually makes them impellers ,not propellers because impellers are always spinning inside of some sort of housing (like in a jetski) or inside of cones , as in this tug. The cones help the impellers to suck-in more water due to the low-pressure area behind the blades and thrust is increased and directed with more force . The fact that the entire impeller housing can be rotated for steering vs a movable nozzle on a jetski for steering is about the only difference.
ps I built and raced a superstock Yamaha Waveraider for a number of years so I am pretty aware of what moves them.
