I just saw this movie the other day. It was 'ok', but ironically what stood out to me was how monotonous the music was. It just seemed to drone on and on without any real purpose or direction. I found it a real distraction.

#2 That's what happens when an arty farty director doesn't tell the composer WTF he's writing for. #1 I'll raise your four monkeys by five monkeys with a friend
for the film but see you with only two bog eyed gits and a jar boy
for the sound track

If he had told the composer everything, Zimmer would have focused too much about the sci fi, not the moral and ethical issues, the human and philosophical aspects and the unbreakable bond between parents and children. And for the record, I have studied acting and music, playing piano for 20 years!
