Brilliant! Bogen and Sperry would have loved to test the relation between left and right brain hemispheres in the process.

Now I wonder how would fare people who have tenuous grasp on the bike riding skill in the first place? How about ambidextrous people? How about left-handed people forced to convert to being right-handed? How about combination of such cases?

For instance, I am what I tend to call "partially ambidextrous" or "selectively ambidextrous", which describes a setup where each of my hands is better at handling different tasks, with another group of tasks that, either instinctively or by effort, I can perform equally well with either hand... I cannot say for sure I would be able to ride this bike as there were clearly many who thought so before me and failed miserably to the amusement of many, but I would certainly like to try it out if the opportunity came by! =)

A cousin of mine build a bike like this so i have tried it, it took me about 30 min to be able to cycle around 50-100 meters, so 8 months, nah.. I was 23 when i tried it.

We had a kid in our local skatepark whose parents assebled his board with the trucks facing the wrong direction. He did quite well in the miniramp, but something looked odd. One day his mom asked me to try out the board, because she thought it behaved weirdly. After I had a painfull experience and told her the mistake she made they reversed the trucks and the kid couldnt deal with it and asked his mom to change it back. As far as i know he still rides his board that way.
