Looks like there may be wooden blocks or plastic in the palms of his gloves? Seems to be more of a demonstration of some sorts.

#5 Yep..those are simple protection gloves. Wrist support and plastic palm. i got a pair too. This just shows how to use them in a fun(and lucky) way. I loved to use my knee pads the same way when inline skating
