Or just cut out a 90 degree triangle profile instead of that shape.... it's been done for years.
I think the design in the video is stronger though, which may be an advantage.

Awesome presentation, sadly not an awesome idea.
The important part is the triangle in the top of his shape, everything below can be replaced by thousands of other shapes and I don't see how this particular one holds the pieces better than any other shape. Some shape which fits better inside each other would probably be better. And as #4 pointed out the triangle top has been done forever and ever.
The shape below is far more symmetrical and would work just as well.

Just need to buy Maya and Fire from Autodesk, learn how to use it and present it in about 3 years The alternative would be to actually learn to work with wood on his level.
In either case, give me a couple of years to present it...
