Heavy Water and Light Ice Experiment

Heavy Water & Light Ice Experiment. What happens? Ice floating over vegetable oil but it decreases in baby oil.
While the ice melts, water is reduced in both liquids. Implemented gas grows and melt water falls. Then the boundary between the melted water and oil shows a beautiful light effect. It shines like a gold (the principle of internal rejection).
The last session shows a small part of the ice cube, which goes up and down. Of course, you can try this at home.

Heavy water, light ice is a misnomer. The buoyancy is being maintained by the air in the ice cube. While you can easily see how the ice cube is pulled down by the weight of the water drop and bounces up when the water drop is released...the opposite affect happens when the air bubble is released and the ice cube sinks. Once enough air is released, the ice cube drops like a rock.
