Another idiot behind the wheel. You can see him passing a 30 km/h sign just before the near-miss and I bet he was going far more than that.

#3 Not to be picky, but a near miss is if you hit something / someone. Anyway, hope his licence is revoked.

Nearly missed, as in almost missed, but it got hit anyway.
Nearly missed, as in missed it, but it was so near it was almost a hit.

The way #3 used it is the way i've heard it most and i've checked iamright.com (Wikipedia) just to be sure: A near miss is an unplanned event that did not result in injury, illness, or damage – but had the potential to do so.
