Thief steals the wrong biker's motorcycle

In a move that looks straight out of the old motorcycle racing video game Road Rash, the rider gets close enough to the alleged criminal to kick the guy off the bike. Check out the video to see what happens from there, but you can rest assured knowing that police do eventually arrive and take somebody off into custody.

#1 as much as the guy deserves it, there's a fine line between stopping a thief - and vigilantism. To you and me, this video looks like the former, but it would be typical odd luck that the cameraman could get charged for the latter at the same time :-/

#2 how would you react if somebody kidnapped your wife? you have no idea how attached some bikers are to their bikes, in my opinion that thief was lucky that the biker acted alone, and did not bring along his buddies :x

#2 If thugs and criminals start thinking that citizens will react this way, they will most likely think twice compared to just knowing nothing will happen to them unless they see the police. This isn't vigilantism imo. If he waited for the police i think that bike would have been long gone. The police isn't there to prevent a crime from happening, they are there to handle the aftermath and make sure the criminals get caught. We do have responsibilities regarding how we want our society, and if we stand back and let all bad happen without intervening, we're gonna lose that battle badly in the long run.

#6 Absolutely right. The police show-up after the crime to count the bodies and interview witnesses.
To think that in some countries you can go to jail for injuring a thief in your own home while trying
to protect your family is just amazing.
