#4 A pre production F35 engaged an F16 in a simulated dog fight. The test pilot said that it was not as good as the F16 in a dog fight. But it's not designed as a dog fighter as the F16 is. It's a stealth fighter - with the intention of sneaking up on aircraft, delivering missiles and flying away.
Dog fighting really comes down to the skill of the pilot as much as the equipment that he / she is using.
