I think that the fact that a random guy that went into a random shop making gifts to random people makes something "random about this..." .

No mister, it is nothing random about selecting a shop and handing out money to the buyers of a shop in order to make a viral clip... it would have been random acts of kindness if it were not made to be viral. This clip is made the way it is, so they can make a huge amount of money from ads, and that dwarfs any money given out in the clip. Now you understand why it isn't as random anymore as you thought.

#5 I'm not sure that it's fair to make that sweeping statement about the making of this video. Consider the possibility that you might be right up to the making hugh amounts of money from an ad but if that is the case what if the makers of the video truly care about people and have worked out that they will make hugh amounts of money and then give that out to other people in shops? just saying! Maybe today we should all go out and commit a random act of kindness

They have just a few other videos there: all have around 50-100 views only. This one has only 300K views, it got viral by luck, which means they gave all the money from their pockets and even if they made money out of it, might be just $15
I have a YT channel as well, and have much more views than these guys, and haven't earned a single cent

I agree, I'm always suspicious of videos "documenting" so-called random acts of kindness but it is nice to see their heartfelt reactions.

I love the arguments saying "its all just to go viral..they just want to make money..bla blubb squirrel" The main point to record it is to show people how easy it is to share and what a great impact it can have..or make the ripple effect and make people do it too. Like the girl in this vid that said she will do it for the next person too..just because she got lucky..she wanted to share that feeling and get the feeling of make somebodys day.
If i would plan to give out 1000$.. i would record it too..just to let people see how easy it is to just share and let them see what a gesture can mean..even if its just holding the door open for the person behind you, or helping a granny to cross the road. People that claim that they do it for money..well then you never tried to make money on youtube. A kind act is never wasted..not even if you record it or make a little cash.
(try to make a living by giving homeless people an overhaul, pay for peoples grocerys or just give away money)
