A Closer Look At The Tunnel El Chapo Used To Escape Prison

Joaquín Archivaldo Guzmán Loera, or most commonly as "El Chapo," has been appearing in newsrooms across the country. The notorious Mexican drug lord leading the Sinaloa Cartel was caught in 1993 and sentenced to 20 years behind bars for murder and drug trafficking. He later bribed prison guards to turn a blind eye while he made his escape to freedom in 2001.

After his lucky attempt to escape prison the first time, thirteen years later, Chapo was found in Mazatlán, Sinaloa. He was taken into custody and thrown back into jail. Recently, on July 11th, 2015, the drug lord planned for his second escape. This time, it was a lot more thought out. Here is a close look at his extensive escape strategy.

When I saw this on the news, it just baffled me how this guy escaped from mexico Top security prison. Apparently they do great jobs at task like this. Amazing how he got away in what I would consider the world's most luxurious escape tunnel lol.

I would have thought it was touch and go whether this was going to be finished before the sentence >:) I have a few questions:- Where did all the soil go? where did all the wood, metal, pvc piping, wheels and track come from. There must have been lorries coming and going daily! :(|)

Amazing, how did the manage to get that accuracy digging underground, so they would hit just under the shower of his cell.
There has to be some kind of inside info prisons blueprints, etc to dig that tunnel. But wouldn't wonder is some corrupted cop gave that info for money.

Like #5 said, nobody didn't notice anything suspicious on that small house/shack next to prison.
