New shocking footage of the recent catastrophic explosions in China

Both explosions were captured in this footage. According to seismic reports from the area, the second blast felt like a 2.9 magnitude earthquake, which is the equivalent of 21 tons of TNT exploding.

The explosion occurred around 11:30 PM and that it was so big that it sent a mushroom cloud into the sky and that it could be seen from outer space.

More than 1000 firefighters came on the scene, 12 of whom have been confirmed dead and officials have lost contact with 63 more.

Firefighting has been temporarily suspended because of the lack of clarity on the content and quantity of the hazardous material in the warehouse (not all fires can be fought with water).

I think VVS (vertical video syndrome) isn't a big deal on short videos.

Who uses a desktop PC to watch stuff like this anymore?? I use my PC for work and sometimes for gaming and shopping.

TV is for longer videos, shows and movies not short clips like this.

That leaves smartphone or tablet. Just turn either to match the orientation in which the video was shot. Done.

Cool video btw. Best I have seen of the explosion.

@0:16 "I think that might be a gas station"
No girl, that ain't no gas station :x

As I read the news, something really messed up is going on there, not just with the explosion but also with the story itself...

As I understood, for somewhat reason the Chinese government is trying to hide all this. A lot of stories have been deleted from the internet by them, and also, on Chinese TV news they barely mentioned about it in the morning and that was it...

"Police are keeping journalists and bystanders away with a cordon as many as a few kilometers from the site. On China's popular microblogging platform of Weibo, some users complain that their posts about the blasts have been deleted, and the number of searchable posts on the disaster fluctuated, in a sign that authorities are manipulating or placing limits on the number of posts. For obvious reasons the local authorities are keeping complete silence on the question of what toxins may have been released after the explosion..."

"I just tried several times to retweet a critical comment on Weibo by @LiYuan6 about Tianjin but "permission denied" - Leta Hong Fincher,Tweeter "

Read more about it here, its freekin' interesting:

Rest in peace, the 44+ innocent people that were lost that night <3 #3 I wouldn't call people dying interesting.

#5 yea its sad that innocent people died but its not like the chinese are an endangered race of people. Its not even a cynical statement if you compare it to their policy lol

#5 I never said people dying is something interesting :| No person in the right mind would say that. Read my comment again, maybe you'll figure out what I wanted to say. If you still don't get it, I meant about the fact that the authorities are suspiciously trying to cover the story up for somewhat reasons.

#2 : movies are not horizontal because screens are. They are horizontal because that's the way our eyes can "read" them best. So no matter if you watch your video on a computer, a TV or your smartphone, they should be horizontal.

Now there is one exception to this rule, and this video is a good demonstration. Sometimes you want to capture a vertical event, like an explosion. If you planned it, you step back, use the right lens and there you go you can film it horizontally. But in those "unexpected events", you shoot with your smartphone, you don't have time to step back, and THEN and only THEN is it mildly acceptable to shoot your video vertically, because you wouldn't be able to capture the whole explosion otherwise.

(i) Its now official that large amounts of highly toxic hydrogen cyanide (wich can be absorbed over the skin too) were released during the incident. Bodycount now over 100 and counting, over 700 injured, thousand evacuated. Next day some explosions followed. Evac zone went from 1km to 3km. Water might react with the chemicals so now sand will be used. Damms are build to prevent the chems to get into ground water. Cause still unclear. Its as catastrophic as fukushima just without radiation. Im sure there will be a lot of bad news next days.

Hahaha..#11, good one!

I think the chemicals were sodium cyanide and also compressed natural gas #10, but I could be wrong.
