(i) He earned them a draw, it was not a championship match so there was no added overtime, the match ended there :) (just in case someone wondered how important the goal was).

No, that's "actually" a bad time to mention that #5...full of football lovers here right now, no room for football haters... :( :'(
...and we're talking real true football, no hand held egg ball....gonna be so down voted for that comment :D >:)

What nobody mentioned was the goal keeper that scored..risky move if you are already 1 goal behind. Thats Manuel Neuer attitude :P

#7 "and we're talking real true football, no hand held egg ball"
True football huh? No hand held egg ball?

Like Rugby football

Or Australian rules football

They look a lot like NFL footballs to me.

I know, I know....still, meaning what we refer to as today's real football (called soccer only in the US), called football in the rest of the world. I admit there are some grey zones here... :D

#12 Not so fast...Canada , Australia (including Tasmania) , much of southern Argentina and Chile , and New Zealand call it soccer too. Much of Southeast Asia has their own different names (Soka,Sokker,Saker, Bolo Sepak, etc) for the same game that uses heads, knees, chests and all other parts of the body except the hands.Maybe soccer should have been named no-hands football. >:)

This might help..... :)

#7 I don't want to make a big point out of this and no doubt this will change, but at time of typing I have the highest +(7) points for not liking football. :) :squirrel:

Now it's becoming tough to know who's talking about what...all I know is that I'm talking about football aka soccer, #13 is trying to make a point that football (US football) is still called football in many other areas as well as soccer is still being called soccer in many other areas, which would mean it's coming out even...and #5 and #14 aka JJ stating he doesn't like football probably meaning US football, being a hen disliking the fact that an egg-like ball is being tossed guess.. >:)

#15 I was very clear about which countries call the English game of football "soccer" and I am sure the hen was talking about English football when he said he hates it. He probably loves the NFL.
Did you look at the map?

I did look at the map, actually pretty cool. The question now is only...I'm getting a little confused about what kind of football the pink areas are, I guess a mix of either...

time to add THE link, since we are talking football...

The map only deals with the game called "football" in England and other countries, not the NFL in the US.
Pink = literal translation and variations of the word "football".
Blue and light blue =variations of the word "soccer".
Green = an all-together different word for the game.

Okay, I get that, the map is great and shows exactly where it is called what, but then that would mean that what we call soccer here in the US, is pretty much called football in the rest of the world with a few exceptons.....I don't even remember what the initiall argument yeah, I give up... ;)

#15 American football is played by men with odd shaped balls.

Just to clarify I don't like football, soccer or what ever else you wish to call it and what ever the shape of the ball. I don't mind rugby but my game is tennis. and most racquet sports. 8-) :squirrel:

Well, since we're talking sports in general now, besides loving "football", played by men with round shaped balls (that was a good one #21, I'm borrowing it), I also love Olympic Games , particularly the winter ones, and I'm usually glued to the TV

#10 Not really a risky move- a pretty sensible tactic. If you are a goal down and end up 2 goals down it really doesn't make a difference. The possibility of getting a goal because you throw your keeper up gives you a chance of rescuing a point from the tie.

#21 #22 Don't forget that the US women with NO balls just won the FIFA women's World Cup by kicking around some round balls.
