Zero Gravity Physics

This T-Handle can wobble and turn in mid air, but how does it work? If you're like me you're wishing you paid more attention in physics class. It turns out the answer is relatively simple.

It all has to do with a concept known as "the moment of inertia." This is what causes the T-handle to flip and rotate around an axis. Astronauts aboard the International Space Station were demonstrating this concept when they shot this video. You can try this for yourself, you just have to figure out the "getting to space" part on your own.

I used to think (probably because I did this in a dream once) that I could jump into the air and by making a quick walking action while off the ground that I could stay up off the ground (I'm talking none chicken now). Now I appreciate this may be one of my stages of insanity (I've lost count before you ask) But I am curious as to whether anyone else has experienced this. Like a deja vu sensation? :)

If you imagine this with a rotating planet you also understand why it has seasons, it flips to its original position and back.
