I think this is too much, these dads are the same as some mothers who put thier girls through beauty queen shit. It's all because they are losers and want to feel the success through the child. only to find out that their child might be one day depressed and all this without nice childhood

Some awful comments, These kids have dream too and if they didn't want to do it they would had thrown a fit, tantrum and all sorts to get out of it and I'am pretty sure the father wouldn't have beaten the shit out of his son for saying no.
My parents are asian and never forced me to do what I didn't want to do. I was playing the Piano at 2 years old because I wanted to and my father was a professional piano player and I never regretted it. I still know how to play the piano but decided it wasn't a passion but a hobby instead and became successful in my own ways.

When he gets bored of it he won't continue the path if he doesn't want to but the fact that his father is there for him and supports him and can also guide him is a blessing.
Sometimes kids are smarter than you all think and you're just underestimating them, Either some of you have forgotten your childhood dreams or ended up not living up to what you wanted in life or shun other parents because you have nothing better to do.

Why does it matter to you though?
Its not your kids, Not your family so why should you care? I just do not get it. Same parents who goes around telling people how to raise their kids and run their families. Praise the kid for enjoying his life not bash the father who they will probably be thanked later in life by his own son as he makes it to olympic gold medalist.

Clearly you can see the child face and notice expressions of being forced . It's very easy to read their expressions if they were truly forced to do what they didn't want and it would show in their eyes.

The dream of encouragement is truly dead to some of you.

#6 Its one thing to dream, its another to harm the kid in his chances of having proper physical development...

#6 You seem to make a hobby out of saying controversially silly things. Don't you worry about what we think Kentucky worry more that you don't get what we say. If you think there is any, even the slightest comparison between a two year old playing a fecking piano and one having weights put on his back to do push ups then you are an idiot. I used to know someone from the Philippines who had a weird take on life and whats right & wrong. Where are you from?

#8 Ke-nutty has said before that he is from Vietnam but I don't think he lives there now. He does have some strange views on life.

#8 I'am not worried about what you think, I think the way you all think is already stupid and wierd, and yes I am from vietnam and was born from there. Most people "THINK" my parents forced me to play the piano because I was forced to do so which isn't true at all, it was offered and I enjoyed it in fact I practiced it more than you can even imagine possible sometimes 15 hours a day. People have argued with comments such as "OH you're son is going to have a higher chance of developing arthritis etc

Many of you argue that strength training like #7 that it harms the proper physical development of a kid. Are you a doctor? Do you know if this kid is doing this everyday or not? Have you ever seen a picture or evidence of a child who has weight trained at a young age with horrible consequences? Pretty sure not.
If he is then yes it would harm his growth plate but based on looking at the video itself you can see that he does this once in a while. There are plenty of arguments from many people where its not true that it stunts growth and causes harm to the body. If you like I know plenty of doctors/ nutritional experts who can argue that proper nutrition and moderate training is OK for a child if you understand how to do it properly.

Its controversial because it makes you think about it and its something that people argue over. Same problems with parents choosing to vaccinate their child or not and others bashing them for not doing so.

#10 Most people don't think that your parents forced you to play, most people including myself don't give a flying feck.

I am capable of Imagining very long periods of time, 15 hours is very easy to imagine, 15 light years a little more difficult but I'm having a go right now.

You have no greater risk of developing arthritis by playing the piano.

Yes I am a doctor
