Kinda' like FPS Russia without the fake accent.
He probably would have had more success if he had been shooting down at the top of the lock body.
A 12 ga breacher round would have done the job nicely.

It's a bit like mythbusters, first we take a story then we do it completely wrong, by using another lock, other weapons and firing in the wrong direction.
So he is just trigger happy.

Why would ppl downvote #4, he has a totally legit point. He is using padlocks that are especially designed to no break in the traditional way. Im guessing this video was meant as a "mythbuster" for what we see in the movies. But as #4 mentioned, they are not using traditional locks according to most movies. Hence the whole experiment falls a bit short.

#7 He shot the lock with a .44 mag fired from a rifle which is at least 50% more powerful than the .357 mag.
