I hate people referring to America as just Merica, that's not the name of this country, and its insulting. You don't see us disrespecting your countries like that, so knock it the fuck off

Well considering America isn't the name of this country either.......

America is the name of two continents. The name of this country is the United States.

#1 I agree, show some respect.

#3 Stop trying to sound intelligent. The USA is often referred to as "America" and you well know it.

Oh and by the way I don't know if "Austin" or the Snotr admins that typed the title description, but you spelled "coming" incorrectly. Ironic isn't it that you use the term "Merica" to identify Americans as back-water unintelligent rednecks and yet you can't even spell correctly. I mean holy crap... Even if English isn't your first language, you still have spell check.

#4 Why should i respect your country? I can and will respect you as a person and individual, but if i disagree with a country's politics and actions, i have all the right in the world to not respect the country. A lot of americans seem (as said, seems) to be very touchy and think it's meant personally towards the citizens of the country, while most of the critics is mostly aimed at the government and the leaders of the country. When you live in a country that makes a lot of noise, you need to adjust your sensitivity accordingly, or else you'll end up feeling butthurt every time someone criticizes your nation.

#5 justifications to pander hatred, resentment and slanderous commentary. Fact is, its meant to insult the people, not the government..

People come to this site for fun, to watch videos to enjoy, not to be offended day after day by people talking down about our countries.. If I started talking about your country the same way I've seen others do about our country and its people, on countless occasions here, you would take offense too..

You tell me, whats fun about being insulted by narrow minded judgmental people that can't be bothered to show some respect.. Nobody said to respect our country, but respect US, and we will be respectful right back.. If it bothers us, as it CLEARLY does, then stop doing it. To persist, is to disrespect those of us who have spoken up, which contradicts your own admission of being willing to respect the individuals.

You don't respect my country? Fine. You don't have to, but show ME some respect and don't go badmouthing it in a place you know I come for entertainment then.. I don't respect everything other countries have done either, but you don't see me running my mouth making people upset bc of my own personal views. ESP not on a site designed for entertainment FOR ALL COUNTRYMEN, not just yours. (figuratively speaking)

I read it a couple of times, but felt you weren't understanding the point #4 and myself were making.. When you call America, Murica, you are infact implying a slanderous connotation toward Americans.(you in general, not you personally) Its insulting. Yes, we have to be thick skinned over the things our country's government has done, but that applies to everyone, not just Americans..

The thing is, it wasn't a comment about the American Government, it is an improper, as well as offensive terminology about Americans and America, implying, as 4 mentioned, that we are back-water unintelligent rednecks just because of the country we are from.

Just because I abhor what Hitler did to the Jewish people doesn't give me the right to talk about Germans as "Germ-mans", much less call their country Germ-many... Its degrading, and absolutely uncalled for, just as an example.

This isn't a political forum, that kind of tripe has no business here. This is a place for fun and entertainment. Whats so hard about being respectful of others, regardless of where they hail from, and not talking about them as if they are inferior? Just look at the downvotes I've gotten already, and for what? Speaking up for myself against something I take offense to... Its absurd, and juvenile.

This is the internet, if you take things like that to heart, you're gonna have a bad time. You need thicker skin if you wanna venture on places like this and other places, the internet has no censorship in that sense. And i feel i shouldn't have to say this, but just in case; there are a LOT of people who will write things online, but never have the guts to say to a persons face (aka keyboard warriors). When those comments are made, one cannot take it seriously. We are all here anonymously, and as long as that is, people will speak to the extreme. About the votes, that seems natural as europe is now awake, while most of the states are sleeping, it will probably even out during the next 24 hours. I also had downvotes on my first comment for a good while. But yea, if you seriously get pissed off on a site like this, i think you should re-evaluate where to spend your energy getting angry, and maybe consider not using the internet as you do if you take such offense. And (let me say you) you americans are not any better than any other nation when it comes to this stuff, we all have humans in our countries that does these jokes and stuff. You give, and you take.
(as you see, i also got a negative vote on this comment, nobody is safe ;)

I get pissed off when people don't have the decency to return the courtesy. I'm never rude or disrespectful to people until they've been so to me. Granted, I AM just in a generally shit mood today, over other things as well, so am less keen on biting my tongue..

And yes, I won't deny that there are Americans that act that way as well.. They make me feel ashamed that they hail from my country. I'll just as soon jump their shit as I will when its directed my way. You are right though, the internet is full of keyboard warriors.. Since they hide behind their monitors and fight with their keyboards, I will, ESP when in a foul mood to begin with, fire back accordingly. I'm not asking anyone to change their views. I do however expect a little common damn courtesy being returned. Nobody is obligated to do so, but its the civilized thing to do. And seeing crap like that go unchecked, says to me that such behavior is condoned... Not by me it isn't.

The way i interpret the whole "Murica"-joke, it is only directed at a very specific part of the population. The part that thinks shooting shit up is a patriotic act.

#9 In Germany (Deutschland) we have an equivalent expression: "Schlaaand!" It is used to make fun of drunken soccer fans who discover their patriotism during the soccer world cup.

Good ol' Hickok45. I watch his videos daily. He is great at showing the older guns too and giving a history lessons while at it. I particularly love his videos on old western guns.
