To bad it can not be used anywhere, where in winter it drops below freezing.
The frozen water would expand and crack the concrete open.

As the pores in the surface of the concrete fill with dirt and oily road grime it becomes less and less permeable.

And all that oily road grime seeps into the water table even quicker vs being held in the concrete a bit more.

#4 you're right when you solve 1 problem and create 3 new ones but your fixing that problem and improving on fixing the new problems. You gotta fix the shit outta that one problem till its done and fixed. These kinda problems are like a Rubic's Cube. It'll piss you off and drive you beyond crazy but it can be done. :squirrel:
#1 Cali is crying because they have a drought and they're water is being sold off to Walmart. Its not like they can buy water from another state they just do it cause of contracts before the drought but at this point they NEED to look somewhere else to buy water from...perferbly from a state that isn't part desert. There is a state that's called "Land of 10,000 Lakes" for christ's sake. :x

Floods that dig away asphalt roads usually dig under the asphalt and the asphalt just gives away after the support is taken.

A lot of rain would likely move the rock grain underneath the asphalt and make the ground unstable.

This is an parking lot Asphalt that could be used on city roads with an drain system built underneath it.

Like #5 fixes 1 problem creates 10 more.

Though its a really god asphalt for removing the surface water when its raining and increases sight and awareness for drivers.

#6 Since when did God get into the Asphalt business? There has to be a monopolies commission issue here. While on the subject why is there only one monopolies commission and why does only one company make the game Monopoly :S :squirrel:

#2 They use special methods in cold climates where there is a freeze-thaw cycle and they do it by using air-entrained cement paste and larger aggregate. (i)

#6 While the permeable asphalt that you mention is also used for allowing stormwater to percolate into the underlying rock and crushed stone aggregate support/bedding layer and then into the underlying soil , this video is about permeable concrete that does the same thing. :)

#9: Even so, concrete wouldn't last a winter under the beating of studded tires or snow chains.
