Police finally brought it down with a shotgun. It had been trailing about 6700' of tether cable which was knocking-out electrical power service to thousands of residents in its path.

#2 Would you rather they shoot it down with a missile? By using a shotgun they reduced the chance of anyone being hurt by the small falling pellets from the shell....smart.

Uhhh how else would you get it down? Fly a jet over it with some sky divers attempting to board it?
The shotgun works I mean they could use a harpoon if you want.
Or maybe use a human potato gun and launch your ass at it. I hsee you're pretty sharp seeing your comment.
