#1 How many people are lined-up trying to get into your country? (other than migrants looking to replace your culture with theirs) How does that make you feel inside?
The news videos coming out of that part of Europe are telling the tale.

And now we know that one of the Paris soccer stadium suicide bombers came over into Europe on a boat full of "migrants".
ISIS promised to have many of their operatives included in the influx of middle easterners flooding into Europe.

You know nothing about the situation here beside what your TV tells you.
I live in the center of it..70km from cologne, were the refugees arrive.
If you dont like others to talk about america, dont talk about europe then if you have no idea and been force feeded by media. (And i wont reply to your reply)

#5 Fine, don't reply, but I do not understand how saying that Isis is using the migrant influx into Europe to sneak terrorists in with the huge numbers of people coming in. That is not talking down on Europe, I was referring to the danger posed by the terrorists. My comment at #2 was made before the tragedy that unfolded in Paris.
Serbian media is now reporting that Ahmed Almuhamed, who blew himself up at the Bataclan concert, had entered Europe by boat with at least one other terrorist on the Greek island of Leros in October and traveled to Serbia where he sought asylum before then heading for Austria.
None of this is a joking matter or something to be taken lightly by anyone.
Sorry if I upset you. :squirrel:

The electoral college is a joke, it served its purpose back in the days when votes were recorded on paper and carried by horse to get counted. It's time is long since over and it needs to go the way of the dodo.

Yes #7 completely antiquated, designed for a time when a direct popular election would have been too difficult considering the size and vastness of the early United States..we need to get rid of it now and start having popular elections...we also need a multi-party system..

Are there any estimates how the political landscape would change in america if every vote had an equal impact? I would guess that republicans profit from the status quo because they are popular in less densely populated areas, which get disproportional many electoral votes.

The reason that the Constitution calls for the Electoral College , rather than just providing for the direct election of the President, is that most of the nation’s founders were actually rather afraid of a pure democracy. James Madison worried about what he called "factions," which he defined as groups of citizens who have a common interest or goal that would either violate the rights of other citizens or would harm the nation as a whole. Madison’s fear – which Alexis de Tocqueville later dubbed "the tyranny of the majority" – was that a faction could grow to encompass more than 50 percent of the population, at which point it could "sacrifice to its ruling passion or interest both the public good and the rights of other citizens."
That is why the Electoral College was conceived and instituted and is still needed for the same reason.
