It's a wonderful idea if you fell overboard wearing trousers the only problem is most of the time people are near water they are wearing trunks.

That technique is taught in the Navy. My dead taught it to me when I was a kid. Thank goodness I never had to rely on it.

#4 Think outside of the Florida Keys, man. People are on the water all over the world, and in most places the water is too cold for comfort. Add some wind chill and you have 10-30 minutes *at best* before you freeze to death. Fun fact: people rarely *drown* in open water.

This is a really good idea providing you are wearing trousers, obviously if you work on the sea it is probably a good idea to wear a life jacket, if you are wearing shorts, trunks, cut off to the knee trousers or a skirt this might not be for you, in which case you can either carry some trousers with you or wear a life jacket. Obviously if there is no likelihood of you being rescued in the following 10 to 30 minutes and the wind chill is making you freeze to death it could be argued that you are prolonging your suffering and it might be better to simply drown. On the other hand who knows, a passing sea lion might take pity on you and offer you a piggy back or technically sealioney back to shore so perhaps you should edge on the side of hope and risk the freezing to death thing. It might be worth noting that carrying a whistle could be useful after all it worked for Kate Winslet and while you are kitting yourself out with life saving attire could I suggest a Flare, a raft (self inflating) food for a couple of days one of those things that converts seawater into drinking water, shark repellent and an outboard engine oh and fuel. #13 Does it have pockets? If so and you are near deep water maybe a pair of pocket trousers might be an idea just in case. Alternatively and I apologise in advance for my lack of Scottish attire knowledge but does the Sporran float or inflate? if not I see a business opportunity here, a Sporran with a built in inflatable valve and life raft. All you need to do is design it (take photos) get it patented, just a Scotish patent will be fine. Call it the Judge-Master an amalgamation of our user names we'll split the profits and live a life of utter luxury.

Re reading these comments three years on, I would like to add that I would probably drown just trying to take my trousers off, even if they weren't shorts or a kilt. I'm a little suspicious of the lack of response from Cameramaster after 'MY' idea for the inflatable sporran! I do hope he didn't nip off, start production and tried to steal the idea from under me.
