I get the part of making sure that people are not verbally abusive to others and especially to your children but there are also other steps that parents and kids should be taking to prevent such terrible things.
How about asking your dad to bring you up well enough not to get drunk and not to hang out with clearly bad and abusive people: make your child a truly strong and independent person. How about asking all the parents to participate in their local communities to organize activities for youth that will occupy their minds and time with better things than hanging out and doing drugs (alcohol is a drug too).
I am no genius but this video just seems incomplete at best and as the title suggests poignant.

I can see that this video has gotten pretty low ratings..I like it though, because it wants to give the message that you don't raise your children well only so they become good people for themselves, but that the ripple effect of that is much greater, affecting others indirectly and if that is missed, can hit home again. Of course other factors come into play too, personality traits we are born with, I know nature vs nurture is a topic where opinions divide, and the big one, peer pressure...nevertheless, a video with a good message..thanks to the submitter

I thought it was very powerful. When I was growing up and at school (many many years ago) I witnessed boys behaving the way described towards girls and I always found that behaviour painful to see. I was one of the very few that didn't take that stance and always felt the greatest respect towards females as I do to this day. I love women the way they look (mostly! not too keen on facial piercings if I'm honest) the way they sound the way they smell and the way they think, not that I claim to understand them what man does.

It appals me to see man abusing or degrading women and I can't start to understand the mentality of Men, Pimps who live off the immoral earnings of girls who have fallen into desperation in life. I would gladly line up every pimp and rapist and shoot them with blunt bullets.

#5 agreed. The one in five girls who go to college that are supposedly raped has been debunked but is widely used ad nauseam. And the women who have claimed rape and found out were lying (big public cases) should be shamed just as boys/men who do the raping should be shamed, but they're not.

I get the video, but to me it's better to teach your daughter to respect herself and generally others will respect her. Don't dress like a whore, don't talk like a whore, don't hang out with whores or guys that hang out with whores. Understand you are the weaker sex and don't put yourself in compromising situations (ie: get so drunk you don't know what you're doing). Take care of yourself. I know it's not "right", but it's life. Again like in many areas of life, you can be right and you can be dead right. Understanding the dynamics of life is more important than standing on silly ideals. Maybe silly is the wrong word, perhaps unrealistic. I prefer to live in the real world vs. pretend world or "what if" world.

And finally wait until you're old enough or more mature to make a good decision regarding your life mate.

I realize that everyone is saying things like "don't dress like a whore" and what not purely out of concern for the safety of young girls, but... Do you ever look at porn? Do you double-take on ads portraying females in sexy outfits? Do you by any chance click on Youtube videos with the token seductive female on it's preview (who obviously never appear in the actual video). If you are a (straight) guy, I bet my balls (all three of them) that you do.

Through our choices and the way we direct our attention we, collectively, set the demands for how females should dress, look, and act to get attention and approval (and of course it works the same way the other way around). We can't create a culture where we +1 girls for flaunting their bodies and then when some fucktard rapes one of them it is somehow their own fault for abiding to our demands! It is _never_ the victims fault that she (or he) got raped, ever.

I would never force myself upon a woman, no matter how pornographic she looked and how drunk (and potentially unable to assess the situation) she was. Girls around me can dress up as "slutty" as they want without me misinterpreting that as a free entry for my penis. And I know many of you would say (and probably/hopefully do) the same. So why even go there? Why even mention how the victim was dressed? That doesn't excuse anything, nor does it add blame to the victim.

There are some that would point out how "beta" my mindset is and how I probably don't get laid. This video is especially for you, you just don't understand it.
