My advice for critical thinking: When you research, try to falsify your own convictions and ideas, not confirm them. If an idea like "is there a god" is unfalsifyable, then there is no right or wrong answer to it and you have to acknowledge that it is not a matter of rational thinking. If you try and fail to falsify an idea like "is the belief in the supernatural a positive force in society", that in principal is falsifyable, you then have a firm ground for your convictions. Finding evidence for something you already agree with is easy and your confirmation bias can easily cloud your mind. Examining the conflicting evidence can lead to painful cognitive dissonance. That's why it is so hard to be rational/critical.

You, yourself, is often your worst enemy.

#1 This is very good advice, but difficult to do, it takes practice. In the video, to ask someone else for advice is only good to see the opinion from another view, but not good enough to make a decision for yourself. That's when the critical thinking skills, #1 suggested, come in.

#1 And finding something someone dislikes causes someone to search the internet for days until finding the one article with the evidence he wants to see . Even if there are hundreds of articles proving the opposite.

Do you want to be a rational person?

Step
1. Drop your stupid fucking religion and don't become a SJW pussy in that process.
2. Enjoy life and try to help others fight against religion and SJW's so they too can find some joy...

There is also one similar technique which can be very helpful, but it's very hard to use it.

Try to observe your self as someone else while doing something, talking to someone, thinking of something and so on. Like #1 said, you are constantly laying yourself, and other people around you, while talking about things you cannot know about.

As you observe yourself, you will see lots of garbage inside and you will want to throw it out, but DO NOT do that right away. This garbage is helping you to survive in this world. Get know your self a bit and then trow it away piece by piece, or you will end up very vulnerable.
