Often confused for one another the prehistoric looking Alligator Snapping Turtle and the more widespread Common Snapping Turtle are two very distinct and dangerous species.

Maybe it would have been nice to see them snapping in action with a piece of meat or a fish or something. ;)

Truly interesting, glad to know we just have the common snapping turtle up here even though they snap more... :S..but the kid that's holding the alligator turtle can spit out his chew before being recorded in a video.. :O

One will snap your finger clean off while the other will take your arm. I had a similar turtle once, it was so tiny and "harmless" until it grew up and got quite dangerous so had to donate it to a zoo.
