Timelapse Cluj-Napoca

This is a follow-up video for user Cameramaster's video London at Night . This was my very first attempt of doing a timelapse video (Nov. 2014), so any criticism is welcomed. For almost a year I'm gathering shots for a new project I'm currently working on, and once It's done, I'll share it with you guys :D (actually, this video was just a test for the current project, in order to learn the basic stuff) Also, all these shots were taken using my phone :D

Nice work...I liked the watch showing how fast time goes, and the idea ( but not the practice!) of showing from 'dawn to dusk' ( I'm not a morning person lol ). I look forward to seeing the completion of a years work!

#1 Thanks cameramaster! :) I still need more shots for it, because hours of recording are compressed in a few seconds. When the weather will get a bit warmer, I will do moving time-lapses with a small robot I made which is USB powered with a power bank, features 2 motors with a gearing system ( http://ascon.net/bestmodels/15019/1501901.jpg ) In my language is called "reductor" which translates high RPM into low RPM with a much bigger torque, and a small circuit that controls the current and voltage for the motors. The robot runs veeeery slow on the ground, but when the video is processed it looks like it goes as fast as a person normally walks, but everything around moves extremely fast (people, cluds, cars, etc)

Beautiful, just beautiful! It's more than photography, it's the story of life of a day in this city Cluj, and it somehow has a very reassuring and "everything will be okay" kind of component to it. Thank you for sharing, Geek...looking forward to more in the future...(the Knife Party music was awesome too!)

Mike, very nice seeing the area around where you live or visit sometimes , the "capital of Transylvania". Don't you actually live in Bucharest?

#4 Nope. Bucharest is the capital of my country and I've been there a few times, but I dont live there. Cluj is indeed a very beautiful city which is worth visiting, with a very rich cultural and historical background. :) I moved to Cluj like 5-6 years ago to go at engineering university and now I live here :D

#5 I'm glad you like it thunder :D

Nice video,
though there are 2 things I don't like. First the movement of the camera in some scenes is really disturbing. And second the outro is too long! ;)
The most I liked the changing colors of the building in scene 1 during dusk and the movements on the water where the ducks/birds were filmed!

Very nice!
But somehow the blurry scene at 1:34 gave me an instant headache...

I did comment on cameraman's London time-lapse video, so I give my 2 cents on this too. The watch clip, even if nicely done, became a cliche in time-lapse photography a long time ago. Everyone does it as it is so simple to do. The parts I actually enjoyed were the Iulius Mall ones. The entry and the lake have been done well. The opening, closing and city center ones have just been a disappointment. Also, when you roll your credits and use that stock footage, it is miles better quality which just underlines the lack of quality in the video itself.

#8 I honestly did not know this timelapse thing became a cliche. I know this video ain't even close to perfect but I just wanted to test out how it would look, shot some random scenes, put them together and thats pretty much it. Oh and the part with the credits is not some stock footage, it's a 3D rendering for music visualization made by a guy I met online :) :

We also have the video here on Snotr but can't seem to find it at the moment :D

Thanks for the thoughts tho' , I really appreciate it.

#6 Like watching live TV, hunh (not that I actually remember the last time I did this)? For every two minutes of programming, you suffer through one minute of commercials. Jokes aside, I'm digging this new community-supplied content vein we've tapped into! <3 Keep up the good werk, team!
