I remember as a child at school we would make a very deadly projectile by unscrewing the ends of our "biro Pen" so the ink tube could slide in and out of the tube freely, then with a rubber band attached to the pen or by using our thumb we would pull back on the rubber band with the ink tube resting on the rubber band and let go.
