Flight Three: Pushing the Envelope
New Shepard flew again on April 2, 2016 reaching an apogee of 339,178 feet or 103 kilometers. It was the third flight with the same hardware. We pushed the envelope on this flight, restarting the engine for the propulsive landing only 3,600 feet above the ground, requiring the BE-3 engine to start fast and ramp to high thrust fast.

#2 yes yes, everyone else's goals should be the same, god forbid we use it to progress in a way that can open us up to options, be it a new place to live, new source of resources, knowledge, etc.
Wouldn't that be amusing, everyone on earth dropping everything till cancer was cured, esp if the cure could only be found on venus or some shit.
I will agree though, that goals like curing cancer do deserve more funding than they seemingly get. Sry, wasn't tryin to downplay the importance of it, just saying there's lots of important things to R&D, be it tech, bio, geo, or w/e
