Releasing orphaned ducklings
The backstory: these mallard ducklings were living in a school courtyard with no access to the "outside world." They were outdoors but surrounded by walls and were obviously too small to fly out. A nest could not be found and neither could a mother duck. What started out as about a dozen ducklings had dwindled down to only four in less than a week. I removed the ducklings and took them to an area I knew to be duck breeding grounds (mallards especially). All I had to do was find a female and get her attention. Peeping ducklings tends to work.

In episode 2, poppa duck comes home from a hard day at the steel plant, sees the new ducklings which don't bear any resemblance to him and crushes them in his beak.
