Excessive use may harm the life there. But this is just a minor amount I think. I find extreme reactions with water exciting to watch, though I know it's probably dangerous.

#1 about potassium, it's in many healthy foods, like banana.

#2 Right, but I was thinking of the metal form of K+ in water, not in the form of KCl or other salts, just he pure element, that kind of reaction would be violent....
...anyways wondering how K+ is bonded in fruits and vegetables?..kirk may be able to answer.. O:)
