Actually, this mighty cat is either a jaguar (most probably) or a panther/leopard. Cougar/puma are not black.

I'm guessing black panther since jaguars are usually larger.

Black panthers from Asia and Africa are black leopards. Black panthers from the Americas are black jaguars.
There are no authenticated sightings of a black cougar (puma) and none have ever been photographed or shot.
