poor guy, i'm still not sure what to say to my two sons when they come to me one day with that inevitable question: "Can i get a licence ?"

I hope they find the driver and revoke the licence.

2 faults. Load was not secured and safety distance too short. Chain of just two errors contributed to this accident. If you take out any of the faults made, no accident. So when you are driving and neglect road rules, you should always consider others also.

Shouldn't be towing in the fast lane.
