Seat belts not compulsory in the US?

sadly as I can tell from my voluntary fireman experience on road accidents, when the crash is too hard the seat belt is always ripped off. Another problem is that people put it too high and it disconnects their shoulder as they slip through.
I don't say they are useless, that'd be a lie, they save many lives and you should use them and as driver ensure that everyone as it lock tight before starting your engine. But sometimes the shock is so hard they can't handle it.
Drive safe and respect the other and yourself on the road :)

Yes, wearing seat belts is the law in the US, (and also common sense)...but there are always a few that don't.

i am very fortunate to be here with you as i had more then 20 accidents, 2 times on the roof, 8 totally wrecked cars and 3/24 it was me driving and two accidents were my fault.. i am afraid to sit with anyone in the car.. and if i do i am co-driver from hell..

back to the point, seat belt saved my life twice ..but also i'd be dead now if i wore a seat belt on two occasions
first time a car doing only maybe a 40kmh from back road hit me and i ended up on a fence avoiding metal spiers through my organs only by being thrown out of a car and the other time on a back seat
i purposely dont wear seatbelt in the city.. only on open road and freeway .. i cant do anything about it .. fear controls it

watching his rollover .. he was maybe saved by the seatbelt :)

P.s. yes i'm still home alone

#4 You might be home alone but I think you should tell us where your home is as I for one don't want to be anywhere near your neighbourhood when you are out. 8-)

#6 I think the ComentAtor should tell us where his house is, as he soon won't be alone anymore, since all of us snotr friends will come over, bring more wine and have a little party...a Bura party...like we have hurricane parties here in the States ;)<3

Has anyone really paid attention to why good cars have a bit different suspension system than thousands upon thousands of older American automobiles? A good car hardly ever starts to spiral out of control like that. It's due to the fact a car with a too soft suspension and chassis heavy tends to be unstable. Anyone recall those waterbeds from the 80's? I give the driver 9 for beautifully executed somersaults. And only 9 since the landing is not visible due to all the debris and dust.:'(
