I got bitten right on the neck by a big redback spider when I was 16...that night was the single most painful experience of my life. The nurses at the hospital said it was the first time in 10 years they'd actually had to use the antivenom, usually a reback bite isn't that bad. That picture in the vid of the guy with the huge abscess on his wrist is not from a reback.

The brown recluse habitat is not quite correct, as its bites have occurred in PA as well, I have seen severe complications of brown recluse bites on two occasions with necrotic tissue formation and clotting of blood vessels where the person barely escaped loss of a limb. I have long ago started the habit of checking boots and things like that in the garage or basement that haven't been worn for several months, because they do like to hide somewhere real quiet.

#4 Yes but it's Northern Germany for feck sake, Sometimes you just gotta take the risk.

A friend of mine once did her degree on the Brown Recluse spider. Over a two year period she had managed to train several of them to follow simple commands. She would say "Turn Left" and the trained spider would turn left, it was incredible to see. She would say "walk backwards" and it would walk backwards. She did fail her degree when she took the experimentation a little too far and started removing the legs from the spiders, one at a time, right up to seven legs removed the trained spiders would still attempt to turn left, or right or go backwards and forwards. Finally upon removing the eighth leg she noticed that the spiders didn't make any attempt to move at all. She concluded that spiders ears are on their legs.:squirrel:

Sorry #4... but you have a bit of different kinda venomous species problem right now. they don't seem to have fangs or venom, but they have been seen using axes, machetes and guns on their prey.

and to anyone feeling offended or anything about my comment... i'm just kidding. they are mostly in france!

also i did such a study once. it took me years to train locusts to jump on command in the direction i was pointing.
after years of training with many different breeds, i went and presented them to some professors and they were all going oohh and aahh in exitement, till the janitor walked by and said:

don't worry, i'll get the bastards and he squashed them all with his mop!
