Kosovo Kaleidoscope

Kosovo may not be on the Travel-Bucket-List for many people. The Kosovo War seems somehow not too long ago and the lack of beaches makes this country a white spot on the travel-map.
However, if you do go there you will be amazed by the extaordinary beauty of the back country, the vibrant city life and friendly people.

Shot in Prizren, Brod, Mirusha Waterfalls, Pec´ and Rugova Canyon.

#12 and #13...It's an emotional thing, it's easy for outsiders to tell you to get over it, but emotions run deep and are often hard to ignore, not saying it's right, but it needs to be acknowledged, because we all do this.

#12 sadly, it's not over. The us airstrikes postponed fighting to the point where people might forget their grudges. Kosovo is still not acknowledged as a country by a lot of states.

Basically you have a question that you can find in a lot of countries: who decides who owns the country. The owner of the majority of the land, the state or the people who live in that part of the country.

What happened in kosovo is that the amount of albanians who came over the border went up. They had children and grandchildren and within only a few generations the majority of people in kosovo where former albanians.

The serbs attacked and butchered a lot of people, ignored a lot of the conventions of genova, commited some horrible deeds. The us came in and bombarded the serbs.

maybe burimi can tell the story from the albanian angle.

#15 Maybe Kosovo will be recognized as a country, just know this. As I remember, there was a terrorist organization UCK that was formed in Albania and Kosovo, that organized attack against civilians and police. There were so many dead from albanian terrorists, that Serbain police had to intervene to stop attacks. Number of monstrocities that albanians did before and after the war is something that this kosovo is built on. Enjoy!

#16 UÇK (Ushtria Çlirimtare e Kosoves)/Kosovo Liberation Army might have been terrorist organisation in your eyes (filled with hater) but it was and still remains Liberation Army for Albanians.

I always tried to stay neutral here in Snotr regarding political sensitive issue such as serbian occupation and atrocities in Kosovo. But individuals like you that try to shift wrongdoings of serbian authorities, make me feel sick. Allegedly attacks of UÇK have been triggered by decade long occupation and reprisals.
Kosovo is an independent country and so it will be forever!

Please read this article from serbian newspaper what serbian forces did in Kosovo: http://www.danas.rs/dijalog/kolumnisti.889.html?news_id=325951&title=Mita%20i%20Sloba

In a democracy the majority decides what to do. So, if the majority are albanians, who want to reform the country, rename it, and make beautiful movies from it, so be it. And if the majority are little martians who want to create a place to worship their cockroach masters, so be it. The times where history and tradition decided who owns a country are over. At least that my take on it.

My family disagrees, but they are from a different generation, a generation where different propaganda brainwashed their heads. We have our very own propaganda now, a more liberal one. If this one is better is for the future generations to decide.

But please, never ever call terrorists freedom fighters. Whoever kills people is a moron, doesn't matter if he is in an army or not, with orders or without. There is no reason whatsoever to do that.
