#1, This is some langage abuse. We have the same problem in France, where everyone comments everything saying "génial" (meaning it's awesome or it's genius). Nowadays a video with a kitten is genius, a guy falling in a hole is awesome, any new invention is genius when it should be at best ingenious. Maybe a lack of vocabulary (oh my god, that's it ! I'm an old grumpy thinking things were better in the old days :P).

She is just a very thorough grandmother getting the dust off first before she connects up the suction. That way she doesn't have to empty the bag so often. O:)
