That is why I go to Walmart for glasses , they aren't part of the Luxottica family of retail sales.8-)

I just found out that I could get contact lenses and a cheap pair of reading glasses for five years and spend less than one pair of prescription glasses.

I'm guessing the "illusion of choice" is more for circumventing monopoly laws than deceiving us, that just happens to be a side perk for em. idk, maybe its vice versa.. All depends where they're selling I suppose

#3 I am pretty sure it is the other way around... People pay $700 for a pair of Luis Vuitton Sunglasses, which they would not do if they knew, that they where designed and produced by the same company that sells glasses for 10 bucks under a different brand name.

So: dioptre = 1 / meter, inch = 0.0254 meter

Then: distance from object in inches x 0.0254 = X and 1 / X = cheap over-the-counter reading glasses to buy.

Examples: at a computer, +2.00 (~18-19 inch distance), reading a book or article on a phone or tablet, +3.00 (~13 inch distance).

Lastly: Enjoy not prematurely losing your distance vision because of chronic accommodation! 8-)

It may be a parody, but still isn't far from reality. That more and more of the world is owned by less people and companies.

#6. It's not a parody. I would describe it as a satire.

#8 You could have chosen 'Awesome' then... ;)

#11True, and I considered that, but I personally reserve "awesome" for videos that I find more than exceptionally good, if too many are "awesome", "awesome" loses it's "awesomeness"...;):)

Believe it or not, It's similar in the UK.
It's cheaper for me to fly to Singapore,
have a holiday and but two pairs of my glasses than buy them in the UK.
