So they'd just cover the lock up in a wet towel to contain the "gas" while cutting through it. I honestly don't even see why anyone attempting to steal a bike would run away once the lock is almost open. That's wishful thinking.

#6 So we should expect a major increase in bike theft outside swimming baths. Then stash the bike back in the swimming baths to wash the skunk juice off and get ready for the next one

If it's semi remote not sure why you couldn't breach the lock then come back in a few minutes when it's clear? Pretty sure the comment above about a damp rag could thwart a lot of it, too. Reality is, if you're leaving the bike for an extended period, just make it a crappy bike. Keep your good bike for when you can keep it close to you.

Creepy how these people somehow transformed a cute skunk into a lifeless bike lock with all that's left resembling it the black and white stripes..
