I'd love to find out what DNA mix I'm made up of! Even though my family are Scots as far back as we can trace...I know that there MUST be DNA from other countries in my make up.

#1 Since the first humans have been traced back to Africa, logic screams that we are all at least a bit African.

Americans have DNA from all over the place except if they are from groups who absolutely don`t mix, but even them carry the DNA from many people from the time before their group isolated themselves.

And I agree, now I am very interested in knowing where my different ancestors come from.

These are all actors, and this is nothing more than advertisement for their DNA kit, and it'll cost you £135.

#6 I don't want to disagree with you again. it just happens to be your name next to the comment. They didn't suggest as your link (from 2007) says, that it would divulge your family tree, merely which countries or continents your DNA originated from in percentage.

#4 You are correct

I'm geographically English which is as much as all of us can say about our deeper ancestry (obviously not all English) I'm only glad the Stereo typical skinhead hard-man English character didn't try and fill the tube from across the room.

I have no clue, what my genetic ancestry is. And honestly, I do not give a fuck to know the precise setup of the random mix, that is just as random as that of my neighbors. Statistically I, as a northern European, have some direct African heritage within the last eight generations. How much exactly? Who cares?
My sense of identity is in no way defined by the location my genetic ancestors dwelled (all over the place). Biologically I identify as a human male. The rest of my identity is defined by loyalty to western values like liberty and the sanctity of human dignity and by beeing a member of my direct family extending (at the most) to my grandparents.
