Call me weird, but when our earth does these things, one cannot do anything but to be humble and amazed, maybe even awestruck. I find it beautiful... i hope nobody was hurt tho...

#1 A vital planet is necessary for life (earth quakes, volcano eruptions etc). If they seize to appear, it indicates a calm core, which in turn is very bad for our magnetic field. Yes, also hope that the damage was minimal for humans etc.
