Short Film Find my Phone - Subtitled

Dutch film student Anthony van der Meer had his phone stolen while having lunch in Amsterdam. Unsatisfied with the response from the Amsterdam police Meer decided to find out what kind of person steals a phone. He downloaded DIY security software on a decoy Android phone, intentionally got the phone stolen, and was able to spy on his thief for weeks. He recorded the ups and downs of his covert investigation and turned it into a 22-minute documentary called Find My Phone. Meer preloaded the decoy device with an anti-theft application called Cerberus, which allows the owner of the device to access any file on the phone remotely, as well as discretely activate the phone's camera and microphone.

So he never reported to the police that he had found the thief? :O
The thief was into drugs and thievery and needs to be apprehended. :S

With the first piece of definitive information who he was and where he was i would have got a few hand chosen mates and pick shafts and gave him a visit at 4 in the morning to retrieve my phone.

Had this happen to me before with 2 phones stolen from my sons van but never able to trace them.
Dirty thieving Bastards, you loose everything you have taken a year to build up on a phone and the perps deserve nothing better than a long stay in a hospital bed.:squirrel::squirrel:

Incredible short film...every phone should have an app like that. I liked how in the beginning, the older man and the older women stood beside his bag and watched it for him while he was "distracted".

This has been debunked on reddit... it's a film made to promote the software used for tracking. It's all staged.
