Looks like no one offered enough so snotr was not sold. :)

Looks like we will see the end of snotr very very soon. Revenue is dropping...only a few dollars above the sustaining cost.

#6 What can we, as users, do to increase the revenue? I don't want snotr to go...
Are there any specific interventions that would help snotr to grow again?
Would uploading more videos help? I already uploaded tons of videos, some very good ones, some of more average quality. But the intervals between posted videos are getting larger and larger, so people are visiting less frequently, which results in less revenue.

Feeling frustrated and sad.......We can't post new videos, but we can add links of our favorite videos in the comment section, and just comment on each other's videos may not increase revenues much, but it may spark more participation.... I'll start with this one, nothing special..just cute and catchy music, listening to the music right now as I am writing this... :)

#9 Good idea generally, but might be more appropriate if they were *snotr* videos? Yeah? Just mebbe? ;)

#10 Yes, totally agree with you, we got to keep up the snotr quality...but I'm glad you like the may also attract a new user from time to time, ...okay, you're next :)

....also we can't continue to only comment at the bottom of this video, hypothetically assuming this would be the last one, which of course I hope it's not...we'd have to go back in snotr history maybe....

The last Snotr video. A firecracker tossed into a toilet. Kind of appropriate...

Sorry guys . I was very sick for the past days, and my dog was too and had to take care of him too + I had waaaay to many things to do.

About the Snotr sale thing : no, Snotr wont be sold. One of the Snotr creators just did an experiment to see a few things. If the site would've been sold you were the first to find out. If anything anytime something will Happen to Snotr, you will be notified.

I know Snotr isn't doing too well lately, it's just me who keeps it alive for almost the past 2 years, and nobody else. The other few admins which created Snotr about 10 years ago, are not around because they are very busy with their other projects. And I am very busy too with my daily life (not that somebody cares lol), I get up at 6 am, go to work, and come back usually late, sometimes even at 10 PM. But lately, it's just too much for me - that being the reason why I got sick. And no, "we won't get any new staff members" - which is what the Snotr creators said.

I will try to keep Snotr alive for as much as possible for you guys. I know, there were a few downtimes, duplicates, mistakes, low quality videos, that happened because of me, and I am sorry for that . Just please, before you all go in rage/frustrated when you see stuff like that, please understand that I'm only human like you guys, I am nothing above or superior or robotic over you, and I have a life too and stuff and many problems to take care of, and as always , shit happens when you need it the least.

I'm very thankful to see you all giving interest in Snotr, each one in your way: caring, comments, submiting videos, etc. Now that you all saw how much money Snotr makes (in the link posted by sux2bu), perhaps now you believe me when i said in the past multiple times, that I dont get paid for what I do here and that Snotr makes barely enough money to support server costs. Maybe I open up a Patreon or GoFundMe account lol, each penny helps hahaha :D:D

I really want to keep Snotr alive. Snotr is like a home to me. I tried a few times to warm things up with some events, had plans with them but only few happened. I dont care how, but I will make more time for Snotr to keep it alive and kicking.

I tell you what: this weekend I am totally free, and I will catch up things and will publish lots of videos that were submitted by you guys (VIDEOS EXPLOSION :D ). And I'll think of some more events to make things more interactive. I'm also working on an Idea for Snotr: to get a notification when someone replies to your comment on a video. I think it's very helpful , because, its very annoying to check comments all the time on past videos to see if someone replied, and also what if someone replies to your comment which was posted on a 2-3 yr old video ? Let me know what you think of this and if it's worth implementing :)

Anyways, thank you all for your attention and for your interest in Snotr. Sorry again for everything, I promise to make it up to you guys :)

#13 Geekster thank you very much for your comment I'm sure I speak for everyone on this site when I say that we all really appreciate what you do here, in your own time, for no monetary gain. I wish there was something we could do to help keep this thing afloat? if there is please tell us. I would be happy to make a small monthly contribution to help with your costs I don't know what everybody else thinks about that but if a group of us made a contribution would that make any difference? From what you are saying it is you alone that is running this ship so contributions could go to you directly?

You will have to excuse my ignorance but is there anyway you could sublet (so to speak) some of the work? The one thing that will kill the site dead is if there aren't new daily video's. I'm thinking along the lines of what needs to be done to a video before it can go on the site? is there anyway you could for instance forward anything to one of us by email and us upload it for you? I'm probably talking nonsense but you know what I'm trying to say. I certainly don't want to put any more pressure on you as it sounds like you have more than enough at the moment but I know there are certain people on Snotr who care for the site greatly, just know that you can call on us. #13 glad to hear from you Geekster, over the past days our #14 Mister J-J scared the crap out of me over snotr being gone :'(
I think Patreon is the way to go, you will have the hosting costs covered in no time.
The idea about notifications for comments sounds great.
Coincidentally my highest voted comment to date is about blowing up a toilet....universe being creepy again :D

#13 PS Just had another idea/ thought!! How difficult would it be to allow us OR ONE OF US to bring a past video on SNOTR of say a month ago or five years ago to the top as like a new post? The fact that it has already been accepted should remove any acceptance issues or copyright problems. Even better if we could loose the previous comments it would keep things interesting for a while? Surly it can't be that difficult?? Alternatively (if that's a big problem) how difficult would it be for you Geekster to simply rerun from the beginning like the 1st video and the 2nd and so on, five a day and add new one's when you have time???:)<3

#15 I never once said it was gone, I was simply making everyone aware that it was up for auction after someone posted first that it was.. I don't think we are out of the woods CG if there aren't going to be daily video's this site will die a very quick death hence my suggestions above. More very welcome COME ON GUYS!!!!<3

#16 yeah well I am not so good with english grammar, sorry O:) But you sure did raise my attention quite a bit. And as I said Patreon would at least take away the fear off the site going offline which would then generate ZERO moneys.
When I see a nice video, I will submit it here, but often you don´t see your video being uploaded and that may scare off some new people that expect their submission to be featured and so they don´t submit another video.
Maybe for users like Burimi or thundersnow or any other user that uploads regulary and CAN BE TRUSTED (<= important part) could get a shortcut for uploading videos, so they can publish them without Geekster having spend too much time on the queue alone. Just an idea that came to mind.
And J-Jake don´t get me wrong, I love this freaking site. I have spend hours with my dad and brother, friends in front of the screen and just enjoyed being here, so I cannot imagine a world without snotr.

Everyday I check snotr before I get to YT, that says it all I think.

hehe, the server costs are covered by Snotr income for the moment, no worries about that. :D
I joked with the patron thing, as in if you guys wanna support me a bit lol :D
Don't worry guys, everything will be fine, and we will keep Snotr, the ultimate place for great videos!

PS: do you want the " videos explosion" this weekend ? ;)

Geekster , thanks for filling us in on some details about you and snotr and how things are going. I have a the Niek that is the seller on the flippa link the same Niek that is an admin on snotr? Seems like it could be the same.

#13 Thanks for the info. What is about a donation button? I would spend some dollars every month (like many others) even if all costs are covered!

And all you snotr fans out there: YOU CAN DO SOMETHING RIGHT NOW!

1) Don't use an adblocker on snotr
2) share your favorite snotr videos --> more clicks --> more ad impressions
3) Upload GOOD videos, even when your last one wasn't published on snotr
4) Tell your friends, share on facebook, twitter, etc..

#18 can't wait for that explosion!!!!! :D

#20 Speaking for myself I'd rather have five video each day than a shedload in one go but I'm easy really.
#21 A donation button would be a good idea, anything to keep the site alive. O:)

Yes, me too, I would rather have just 5 per day, like we used to.
