He isn't half as clever as he thinks he is and the video wasn't teaching anyone something new.

Next time interview Bill Nye...

#1 #2 #3, Interesting...because he is one of my favorites to watch..I agree with JJ, there is a little arrogance to him though, Bill Nye is definitely great and another favorite one (besides Veritasium <3 ) is Carl Sagan...

i agree with you #4 When he give talks or interviews, he talks with such a passion and excitement that it gets me intrigued and i feel like i want to learn more about the topic he is talking about. Its also fun when he talks about the people who inspired him, like carl sagan and isaac newton.

Tyson is a celebrity scientist whose most notable achievement in science, is that he doesn't actually do any.

He is proud to say that he sees himself as an educator who speaks on behalf of science, he has said many times that one of his favorite thing is doing stuff in the lab. But education and promotion of science comes first.

#2, and anyone else. Interestingly, Bill Nye the science guy had just been invited to the Today Show today for an interview. Unfortunately the host Kathie Lee Gifford treated him very rudely. I always thought she was an airhead, now I know for sure, don't care how "attractive" she is, how big her tits and her income are, but her brain is the size of a pea, and I am appalled how she treated this wonderful man on national TV. Here is the clip from today:

#7. Sorry FemaleThunderPerson, but Tyson hasn't published anything for years. He's too far up his own a***ehole playing the TV guru to actually do any real scientific work. :|

... and after reading your comment regarding Kathie Lee Gifford, I'd never heard of her, but I'll follow your link, just to take a look at her 'big tits'. lol :)

... I'm back. Her tits aren't that big, so no score for that, and her monotonous nasal voice got on 'my' tits after just a few seconds. So it's a big fat 'Nope' from me.

#10 Thank you foxy for looking into this matter and spending your precious time watching my link so you could make a judgement, and support my lonely case :*. I was so distressed over this last night, I was embarrassed for Bill and angry how she blew him off, but he handled it so well. And you're right, after I checked again, I saw her tits aren't really that big, but her brain remains the same, as small as a pea. :x :squirrel:

Tyson has been carried away with being famous. When he felt the need to weigh in on Deflategate and his conclusions were proven wrong because he didn't apply what, for physicists, is a basic principle he lost all credibility with me.

#11 Haha...wanted to edit my other comment, but someone commented in the meantime :)....anyways, I believe your comment on Tyson is correct, as it seems to be the consensus here, and very possibly I'm not up to date with my information. And as #2 pointed out, there are other scientists who have more to say, as Bill Nye. It's sad that Tyson has come to this point, because there was a time, about ten years ago, when my youngest son asked me to watch Tyson's presentations with him, and I was truly impressed. Now, I'm going through a little grieving process, but that's quite okay, because I'd rather know the facts on someone.

#14 That's okay, you're a guy and you were focused on her tits, that's totally understandable...;)<3

Bill Nye is not a scientist , he was a TV personality known as "Bill Nye the Science Guy" on a PBS kids show doing simple science experiments to wow the kids. His scientific bona fides consists of an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from Cornell, and a stint at Boeing.
He started out in comedy and only reason Nye even was able to get into the field of comedy to begin with is because he won a contest that involved impersonating Steve Martin. In other words, Nye's shtick about being a "Science Guy" is based on him being a performer, not someone who has done extensive studying on science. He is a pretend scientist in a bow tie and a mouthpiece for the climate alarmists.
Neil deGrasse Tyson on the other hand IS a scientist but his celebrity status seems to have gone to his head.
