It's one of those leathery turtles, can't remember the exact name but the shell is not very hard at all. The bite however is really nasty! One of those can easily snap your finger right off.

#8. Ahhhh...a 'Snapping Turtle'? Gottcha (Y)....glad we don't have them over here in the UK...we have nasty things such as Tony Blair! And DAMMED if I'd go in the woods after it, it looks the type of critter that might ambush you !

That is not a snapping turtle. That is some variety of softshell turtle, the bite of which is nothing to laugh at, but also nothing remotely like that of a snapping turtle.

#10 is right, definitely not a snapping turtle, they are much bigger and different looking.
