This might seem a little unusual to all you johnny foreigners out there, but in fact you can't get into the English (Scottish you can) Police force without an A level in music and the ability to play a musical instrument. It's something to do with stress reduction after shifts and has been found to reduce sick days in the constabulary by upto 38% since it was introduced in 1976. Most English police stations have a collection of musical instruments in the rest rooms guitars and very often a piano. The main station in Sussex has three pianos and a full set of drums. In Wales they favour the human voice and most stations have a male voice choir, you will often hear the bobbies singing in unison if you pass a welsh police station. If anyone gives me negatives for this you are a kitten hater.
