Crane failed because the extra force caused by the wind. Not that the wind pushed it. Around 44 sec you can hear boom like sound and camera man asking what is happening here. The center pin of the Big Blue Crane broke, which holds crane boom. And whole lifted mass.

I did not intend to spread sensation by submitting this ( a very very longtime ago, I had completely forgotten about this video), but rather in memory of those three men that lost their lives. This was very tragic and sad.
