Rear naked choke, palm strikes, this officer had proper martial arts training and knew how to apply it, and the result was almost no damage at all and the situation got defused. Not a single shot fired. I hope others take note and try to apply it to their force too.

#1 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rear_naked_choke

you need 2 hands or you need to grab your shoulder around his neck and use your head to put pressure, to do it right, This officer was not sure what he was doing.

And his palm strikes were piss poor
Better try open hand slap over his ear or cover his nose and mouth to block airways or use real choke and block his airway.

But when 2nd cop came he felt advantage, he had to give some strikes in.
He went on offense while they were in power and that was wrong move in my opinion
He didnt have to hit, he should just apply rear naked choke until tap or out cold.

#2 They weren't exactly tumbling on a mat tho, this is real life. They don't train martial arts the way MMA fighters do, or other martial arts athletes, they learn the basics and get refreshed once in a while, so they go with what they got, and thats exactly what you saw here. We're not talking about Royce Gracie or Fabricio Verdum here, but a police officer. The whole point is that you can clearly see that he was trying to use what he learned to make the least damaging defense, instead of having to blast the guy to death in some sort. Also, choking someone out can be extremely difficult wearing a full uniform with radio and whatnot, and suspects are fully clothed too, so for someone who is on a basic level, i wouldn't expect a clean choke from this situation. I agree his palm strikes were not as effective as you see in a training video, but you try it yourself while laying on your back with a raving lunatic on top of you.

Should have just shot him.

that way no ones life would have been in danger except his own.

" damaging defense, instead of having to blast the guy to death in some sort."

do you understand the words you are using :)

"this officer had proper martial arts training"
"They don't train martial arts the way MMA fighters do"

In Judo, the rear naked choke is known as Hadaka-jime
this is not mma it is defensive, not offensive.

" try it yourself while laying on your back with a raving lunatic on top of you."

Btw officer chose to go on his back, he had his neck and legs in body lock, he wanted to stretch his spine, with his right arm he pull them back on his back and then 2nd officer came in to help. And rest i already said what was wrong and you responded with damaging defense.

#6 Sigh... really? you're going after the way i worded myself? How can you not understand how those words were meant? I tell you what, you didn't understand them because you chose to not understand them, how about that ;) I'm not gonna bother explaining myself when you're obviously after some sort of lecture giving of some sort. Have a nice day man!

How can you dont understand what i meant? :)

i told you choke is ok defensive move and hit isnt ok attacking move

You came back with damaging defense is better than justified shooting.
Sure it is better than killing a man, but should we hold police to higher standard?

Thats why im saying there was no need for damaging defense jet you somehow accepting it as something normal.

#8 I do believe my wording is "the least damaging" and was in context of shooting someone. This approach is the lesser harmful way if you want me to put it like that.

And someone is just walking around filming, instead of helping by holding the guy's legs or something. Media is always more important. Sigh.

The officer had a perfect punch in the plums option that he didn't take. This could have been over in seconds.

If the law doesn't allow for any amount of punching, slapping, eye gouging, testicle twisting or finger snapping when a guy with hair that bad with a gun is going to try and shoot you then THE LAW IS AN ASS!!

#12 Law is to get Neanderthals like you in check so i can see why you fell law is an ass.

are we making up stories again?
Maybe "shooter" wanted to run away and hide his gun.

And only thing he could shot was one of his "3 legs".

#11 most likely they were part of a film crew for documentary reasons, and they are probably told to not interfere by both their company and the police, its common when they do those documentaries to have the crew not interfere (unless of course it really comes down to life or death, they don't let a baby drown to put it like that)

Should have shot that waste of oxygen in the face and burn his corpse on the court house square.

Very lucky no-one got shot. These two cops seem like a pair of bumbling rookies. Two onto one and it still takes them all weekend to disarm and cuff a spaced-out homie. :|

#13 What the Feck are you rambling on about??? Firstly it's FEEL not FELL and it's SHOOT not SHOT. Secondly What story am I making up again you moron, there wasn't a story in my comment. Thirdly Let me guess you also have awful hair. Are we to take it from your comment that you are on the side of the guy with the gun? You think that maybe he just wanted to run away and hide his gun? I think it's you who are the Neanderthal. :(

#19 its not my stupid language so deal with it.
2nd the story where you say dude with the hair wanted to shot at police.
3rd i have good hair, i let it be, i dont make it some sort of nice form for you to enjoy it.
4th im not on a guy with hair side. Im just saying police shouldnt use force when they had situation under control.

in my opinion you went of the rails and you are the one who calls for more brutality.
