I've walked past those railings many many times, I took my step-kids out one day when we came across more of then...and asked if they could guess what they were...when I told them what the fence was made of they were gobsmacked, even more so when an elderly guy who had stopped to listen turned and told them that he had been carried away from a bomb blast on one of them.
