Beautiful scenery! Merry Christmas Snotr!!

Looks like someone is still learning to fly their drone. I think he clipped that limb at the 23 sec mark. That is why the video starts over. It probably didn't damage the drone though. They're probably flying a DJI Phantom 3. The newer Phantom 4, allows you to set a course and turn it loose and it will pretty much fly the course on it's on and return. It will avoid objects because it has sensors on all sides except on top. It has the same technology as the self driving car.

A fun experience though. I had a Phantom 3 for a year and sold it. I always flew it with my heart in my throat, fearful I was going to crash a $1400 "toy". The Phantom 4 eliminates most of that fear.

I hope you all had a good one, i genuinely wish that upon you. Mine came short. Not that anything went wrong, but i've been in a personal struggle in my life the last 5 years, resulting in that the last 3 years i haven't been able to afford any presents for my family. The grown ups understand, they don't judge. But the kids, me nephews and nieces, it breaks my heart when they come giving me a hug saying "thank you for the present uncle", to which if course smile and say "no problem kiddo, hope you enjoy it", knowing in my heart it was my parents who bought it on my behalf. I'm 38 years old, but my heart feels like a 6 year old during those moments... and i tell you, sitting around my own family trying to not cry at the age of 38, its rough man... its really, really rough, and if i can wish anything upon any of you, its to never, ever experience those things... lots of love to ya all <3

My Christmas was very sad too. My beloved dog, Harvey, died today, while I was at work. He had declined a lot lately and he is 15 years old, so I knew it was going to happen soon, but when it happens it's still awful. He was my best friend, always by my side when I was sad, or not feeling well, always greeting me so happily when I came home from stressful days at work, always loving me unconditionally...I miss him so so very much! :'(:'(:'(

#8 Wishing you a better year in 2018, dear MindTrick, and that things are going to work out for you without you having to struggle so much! <3

#9 So sorry to hear about Harvey TS. The loss of a dog can be a gut wrenching experience. Dogs offer unconditional love. Actually they don't just 'offer' it, they flood you with it, in heaps. Am I right? Try not to get sad. Think of all the good times and the great memories. <3<3<3

#8. Chin up buddy. The only way you know about good times is by having bad times to compare them with. Better fortune could be just around the corner for you. And listen, I know kids can appear pretty shallow, especially at Christmas, but I guarantee you that underneath that thin veneer of the Christmas gift collection culture, your nephews and nieces will treasure their uncle a million times more than the presents.

2018 beckons. I'm looking forward to it. :)

#10 Thank you Fox for your kind words, yes you are absolutely correct about the love one receives from a dog friend. It's as if we are perfect, when actually they are the ones that are perfect. it is really very beautiful. And yes, all day so far, the memories of him, beautiful ones, funny ones, and the times he made me angry, all of them are passing through my mind...:*<3

A Merry Christmas and a great New year to you all. My Christmas was/is actually awful too. I'm okay but someone very close to me is really struggling with life at the moment, depression/anxiety, suicide attempts x3 including today. All came on about a month ago out of the blue (Literally) also one of our dogs had to be put down a couple of weeks ago also aged 15.
Haven't been able to buy any Christmas presents and didn't send any cards just been all consuming day in day out for four weeks. As and if things improve, which is going to be a slow process, several weeks before any lights are seen at the end of any tunnels, I'm going to have to do Christmas in January or February.

#8 MindTrick, just know that you are not suffering alone, try and keep positive however difficult, things will get better. If you try and focus on positive things, positive things will happen.

#9 Thunders Harvey was a good age as was my dog, I just know he had the best life he could have with someone who loved him so much. It is a cruel trick of nature that dogs live such a short life when we often live such a comparatively long one, someone should work on that. xx

#12 JJ, your comment was comforting, thank you! <3:* I can't believe you just went through that too, but I think we talked about our dogs about a year ago, when mine started that cough that never resolved. Didn't yours have a cough too then? They said Harvey's cough was kennel cough (bordatella bronchiseptica), even though he was vaccinated for it. They treated it, but still, it never went away. Anyways, it's good to know that they had a good life, right? Today I buried him, it was hard to dig that hole in the backyard, next to my other dog, Laika. But it had to be done, afterwards I planted a bunch of daffodil and narcissus bulbs in the soil on his grave, it will look pretty in the spring.....<3:'(...and yes, I agree, someone should work on lengthening dogs' lives!

I am very sorry for your friend, who is suffering so much. I think we sometimes don't see these things developing, because society doesn't "allow" people to express pain...we are expected to be strong at all times... it's too much for some people, they don't see a solution, and they become depressed and are tired of living...I wished people would feel okay to talk, and not worry about what others think. I wished people would let others express their emotional pain and anxieties without blowing them off or just saying "you need to get some help". I think what people need most when they are in a situation like that is someone that listens to them unconditionally, someone they can lean on, someone that will hold their hand or give them a hug when they are stressed. Our world is so cold and harsh, and we are not that strong. Having and caring for a dog also helps. When I had bad days at work, when I felt everyone was against me, and I came home and Harvey came running towards me, tail wagging, bringing me his favorite toy, I didn't care any longer how toxic work had been. Sorry this is so long..

#13. Indeed the world can be a harsh environment and a dog nearly always makes it better although I have a very winey terrier here today who is not helping me at all lol. I have a number of dogs and I can't just remember if it was the same one which had the cough, but certainly one of them yes. Nice to have an area where you can go and remember your dogs and the flowers do make that special. JJ <3

#17 I' like to scour too, but not much time up to now. I'll try my best! :) Merry Christmas and New Years yo all!

BTW, always had cats, but my love for dogs is somewhat selfish. I used to volunteer walking them (some very intimidating dogs, too). but my love for the independence of a cat, and the fact that they loved me back (you can tell if you're a "cat" person) without conviction, nor judgement. Dogs can do the same, but when it comes from a "dreaded" cat (I've lived with them all my life, there is no such thing), people respond as if dogs are the "be-all", and cats are mere disturbances. To those, I say, you never treated your cat right

May have to do with stereotypes
