'Fun' additional fact, normal human beings can't survive more than 11 days (264h) without sleep. I myself napped to this one.

Very accurate interesting video. I've been reading recently about the amyloid build up in the brain it is really bad stuff and also at an earlier level than dementia, it is responsible for anxiety and depression. Most people who start off with anxiety have usually had a number of sleepless nights prior.

If you are going to take cat naps and are lucky enough to find the time to do that you should aim for segments of 90 minutes to complete a full sleep cycle, that way you will get full REM sleep. The problem with that is if you don't nod off straight away, you can't really set an alarm. Personally I can sleep anywhere anytime and frequently do so. Setting my phone to wake me up after 90 minutes during the day isn't a problem. Plus I usually get a good eight hours at night sometimes more.

Incidentally if you usually wake up in the morning to the alarm clock and often find it really difficult to wake, who doesn't!! it's usually because you have been woken mid cycle and it takes quite a time to get your body switched on from that point. It's better to count segments of 90 minutes from the time you need to set your alarm and work backwards to what time you go to sleep. Virtually nobody does that but it really works. So for example if you need to get up at 7am a good time to go to sleep would be 10pm or 11:30pm but not 10:30 or midnight. Try it and see, if you need to read something to get you to sleep (NOT YOUR PHONE OR TV) an actual book would be good do that perhaps at 9:45pm or 11:15pm read for fifteen minutes and off to Noddy land and wake up refreshed when the alarm goes off. simples O:)
